ConclusionT2B2F is associated with a higher incidence of acute GVHD compared with T1B2F. These results suggest that a lower dose-intensity of thiotepa and busulfan in the TBF regimen may yield better results in patients with AML in CR.

We describe three cases of lymphoma in which lymphoma mimicked other diseases causing neurological dysfunction, specifically sarcoidosis, vasculitis and infection respectively. Case 1 was a 66-year-old man with subacute progressive diplopia and gait disturbance and investigations revealing a supratentorial para-falcine soft tissue lesion, mid-thoracic cord enhancement and right axillary mass and an elevated serum ACE. Right axillary mass core biopsy was diagnostic of Burkitt lymphoma. Case 2 was a 50-year-old man with several weeks of constitutional symptoms and development of lower limb weakness and numbness, urinary rete...

Authors: Al-Juhaishi T, Mckay J, Sindel A, Yazbeck V Abstract Introduction: Double-hit (DHL) and triple-hit lymphomas (THL) have long been among the most clinically aggressive molecular subtypes of diffuse large B-cell lymphomas. In the 2016 revised WHO classification, they represent a new entity called high-grade B-cell lymphoma with rearrangements of MYC and BCL2 and/or BCL6. Unlike most B-cell lymphomas, they have poor response to standard R-CHOP therapy, tend to quickly develop resistance to cytotoxic chemotherapies, and are associated with higher central nervous system (CNS) infiltration. This can lead to incr...

We report a case of Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma mimicking a psoas abscess in a 6-year-old girl which posed significant diagnostic challenges. She presented with a vague two-month history of anaemia, fevers and back and abdominal pain. Axial imaging including MRI suggested a diffuse, inflammatory lesion in the right psoas muscle and she was commenced on an intravenous antibiotic therapy regimen but with little improvement. An open biopsy was performed and histology confirmed Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase 1 positive ALCL. To our knowledge, this is only the second case of ALCL with the tissues adjacent the psoas muscle as the...

(American Society of Hematology) Adult lymphoma patients whose disease was effectively treated with chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy showed marked improvement on a variety of self-reported quality of life measures, according to a study published today in Blood Advances. The study offers evidence that CAR-T may not only extend cancer patients' survival, but also improve their quality of life after treatment.
