In this study, olfactory ensheathing cells (OECs) were cultured, chitosan (CS) was prepared, and the compatibility of CS and OECs was detected by MTT method. Animal model of chronic constrictive sciatic nerve injury (CCI) was made, OECs and OECs+CS were transplanted to the region surrounding the chronic sciatic nerve injury, and the difference between the two groups in the treatment of NPP was compared. The mechanical withdrawal threshold (MWT) and thermal withdrawal latency (TWL) were measured by using behavioral method. In situ hybridization and Western-blotting were used to detect the expression of P2X4R mRNA and protei...

Our findings highlight the importance of a broader understanding of this condition, treating this disorder from a biopsychosocial perspective and suggests the need for non-medical attention within a multidisciplinary team. Materials and Methods From June 2015 to December 2017 38 children aged 2-60 months (mean age 1.7 years) underwent LP for correction of PUJ obstruction. The mean pre operative anteroposterior diameter of the renal pelvis (APD) was 43,5mm and all patients had hydronephrosis (APD 21.4-76 mm) and obstructed curve on diuretic renogram. Anderson-Hynes pyeloplasty was the performed technique. Results are reported. Results Mean operative time was 107 minutes (70-180) with no conversion to open procedure. Pain control was needed mainly in the ...

Surgery presents unique challenges in pain management for patients with chronic pain. A perioperative optimization program, starting at decision to surgery, is likely to yield the best results for this population. Perioperative optimization focuses on psychological, medical, and physical optimization. Psychological optimization includes cognitive behavior therapy, relaxation, and music therapy. Medical optimization focuses on the multimodal approaches of pharmacological adjustment and physical optimization focuses on prehabilitation and nutrition optimization. The ideal care model incorporates these optimization strategies...
