Acute Kidney Injury and Electrolyte Abnormalities After Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell (CAR-T) Therapy for Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma

ConclusionsIn this case series of patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma receiving CAR-T therapy, AKI and electrolyte abnormalities occurred commonly in the context of cytokine release syndrome.

Abstract13N-Ammonia (13N-NH3) is widely used positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) radiotracer for the measurement of myocardial blood perfusion; the possible role of13N-NH3 PET or PET/CT in oncological disease is not yet clear. Aim of this review is to evaluate the diagnostic performances of13N-NH3 PET in this field. A comprehensive computer literature search of the PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Embase databases was conducted including articles up to June 2019. Eighteen articles were finally included in the review. From the analyses of the selected studies, the following main findings could be drawn: (1)...

ConclusionsDynamic contrast ‐enhanced‐Magnetic resonance imaging is a promising noninvasive imaging method that has moderate or high accuracy in stratifying gliomas. DCE‐MRI shows high diagnostic accuracy in discriminating between HGGs and their low‐grade counterparts, and moderate diagnostic accuracy in discriminating recurrent lesions and treatment‐related changes as well as PCNSLs and HGGs.

Conclusion: XYS may have the ability of resistance to stress, enhancement immunity and promotion nerve cell regeneration by regulating the expression of multiple genes in numerous pathways and repaired the stress-induced impairments in hippocampal structure and function by inducing cytoskeletal reorganization. These results may provide the possible target spots in the treatment of stress in rats with XYS. Introduction Xiaoyaosan (XYS) which was first recorded in the Prescriptions of the Bureau of Taiping People's Welfare Pharmacy contains Radix Bupleuri, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Radix Paeoniae Al...

BY FREDDIE IRIZARRY-DELGADO; VAROON KAKAIYA; &AHMED RAZIUDDIN, MDAn 86-year-old African-American woman was brought to the ED by her daughter after two days of nutritional neglect, abdominal pain, and altered mental status. Her daughter said her mother felt lightheaded, appeared dehydrated, and vomited nonbilious watery fluid once. The patient had a history of diabetes mellitus type 2, DVT/PE, dementia, and early signs of parkinsonism. Her vital signs were remarkable only for tachypnea (24 bpm). Her troponin I was markedly elevated at 1.7 ng/mL. A D-dimer was ordered because of her history of unprovoked DVT/PE, and it...

Dokholyan, Ru-Rong JiSummaryIncreasing evidence suggests that extracellular miRNAs may serve as biomarkers of diseases, but the physiological relevance of extracellular miRNA is unclear. We find that intradermal cheek injection of miR-711 induces TRPA1-depedent itch (scratching) without pain (wiping) in naive mice. Extracellular perfusion of miR-711 induces TRPA1 currents in both Trpa1-expressing heterologous cells and native...

Conclusions:When reviewing a VQ scan, it is important to consider both embolic and non-embolic causes of perfusion defects. Correlation with the chest radiograph should be made and further evaluation with cross sectional imaging obtained when appropriate. Patients who have a massive pulmonary embolism are typically too unstable to undergo a VQ scan. Therefore, a unilateral lobar or whole lung perfusion defect should prompt further evaluation for a non-embolic cause, such as a compressing mass or a congenital anomaly. Mediastinal masses, such as bronchogenic carcinoma or lymphoma, are a common cause for pulmonary artery obs...

Tumors exhibit several physical and physiological barriers that limit the distribution of molecules as small as oxygen; tumor barriers are compressed vessels due to solid stress, immature vasculature with geometric resistances, high interstitial fluid pressure, and the dense extracellular matrix. Tumors are also thrombotic in nature; pancreatic, colon, gastric, lung, ovarian cancers, melanoma, glioblastoma, lymphomas, etc. are associated with a high rate of thrombosis. Solid tumors obstruct venous return which cause static blood flow, endothelial cell injury, and coagulation activation. We hypothesize that coagulation/thro...
