Foliar nutrient content plays a key role in mediating the interaction of plants and insect herbivores within and across generations. Here, the weed biological control agentNeolema abbreviate is depicted feeding on its hostTradescantia fluminensis during trials measuring performance across generations on hosts with variable nitrogen content. Our study concluded that adult traits such as oviposition selection, weigh gain and longevity were largely unresponsive to parental diet.
