Diabetic retinopathy screening uptake after health education with or without retinal imaging within the facility in two AYUSH hospitals in Hyderabad, India: A nonrandomized pilot study

Conclusion: AYUSH hospitals could provide a feasible and acceptable location for providing DR screening services. Further studies are required to assess scale-up of such intervention.

Hence, it is significant for preventing protein glycation mediated by MGO. Here, the anti-glycation potential and mechanism of gallocatechin gallate (GCG) as an active ingredient of green tea were investigated. It was found that GCG exhibit good scavenging activitie...

Authors: Warmbrunn MV, Herrema H, Aron-Wisnewsky J, Soeters MR, Van Raalte DH, Nieuwdorp M Abstract Introduction: Cardiometabolic diseases (CMD) are a group of interrelated disorders such as metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases (CVD). As the prevalence of these diseases increases globally, efficient new strategies are necessary to target CMD and modifiable risk factors. In the past decade, evidence has accumulated regarding the influence of gut microbiota (GM) on CMD, providing new targets for therapeutic interventions.Areas covered: This narrative review discusses the pathophysi...

This study aims to investigate the gamma and neutron attenuation properties of several OAD (oral anti-diabetic drugs) samples. Our sample consists of seven different OAD films with different elemental compositions. The data were evaluated with Monte Carlo (MATLAB, WinX) techniques by SEM (Scanning electron microscopy) and EDS (Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy) analysis. By using WinXCOM in the energy range from 0.02 MeV to 20 MeV, the mass attenuation coefficients (μ/ρ) for OAD samples are calculated. Additionally, both effective removal cross-section and effective atomic numbers (Zeff) for the sample films ...

The sample was systematically characterized through various techniques and its strong biomolecule‒metal interface structure was supported by the results. ...

Mrs Havercampa presents to clinic at 4:00 pm today for an unscheduled appointment. She is a 67-year-old obese diabetic woman who is 10  days status post right common femoral endarterectomy with Dacron patch angioplasty and retrograde iliac stenting for rest pain. Today, she reports increasing pain and drainage from the groin wound. On examination, there is erythema and dehiscence of the skin edges. Cloudy fluid emanates from the w ound. I sigh. “Mrs Havercamp, when was the last time you had anything to eat or drink?”

Had a weird case a couple of weeks ago. My partner, who is an outstanding technical surgeon for implants (one of the best I have seen) had a stim follow up while he was on vacation. The wounds were dehiscing and the incisions looked odd (my partner has had only two infections over a 25 year career, so he is pretty damn good). I took her to the OR and removed the stim, packing the incisions open. Initial cultures were negative, but eventually grew candida. This patient was a diabetic with a... candida fungal infection with stimulator
