Serum B-Cell Maturation Antigen (BCMA) Levels Differentiate Primary Antibody Deficiencies

ConclusionssBCMA level is profoundly reduced in patients with severe PAD, including those with CVID and XLA and those with IgG levels of less than 600 mg/dL. sBCMA level measurement has potential to augment clinical evaluation of PAD. Prospective studies are needed to evaluate sBCMA for new PAD diagnosis and determine the necessity of IRT.

Boosting the sensitivity of in vitroβ-lactam allergy diagnostic tests. Chem Commun (Camb). 2020 Oct 14;56(80):11973-11976 Authors: Peña-Mendizabal E, Morais S, Maquieira Á Abstract The synthesis of structurally new haptens and the development of suitable antigens are essential for boosting the sensitivity of drug allergy diagnostic testing. Unprecedented structural antigens for benzylpenicillin and amoxicillin are characterised and evaluated in a cohort of 70 subjects with a turnkey solution based on consumer electronics. Authors: Cáceres-Perkins W, Cabanillas F, San Vicente G, Rivera-Franceschini C, Sobrino-Najul E, Vega-Vázquez LI, Conde-Sterling D Abstract Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphomas are B-cell neoplasms that commonly affect the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, usually the stomach. In most cases, extranodal marginal zone lymphoma (ENMZL) is an indolent disease. Bone marrow involvement is common with MALT lymphoma accompanied by paraproteinemia; such involvement impels disease progression. Here, we present the case of an 82-year-old Hispanic patient with long-standing ENMZL in whom the gastric site...
