Greater Cincinnati hospital lays off dozens, reduces hours for other workers

Highpoint Health disclosed this afternoon that a declining patient base prompted the Lawrenceburg-based hospital to lay off 31 employees and reduce the hours of 50 other workers, 23 of whom will move to part time. Known as Dearborn County Hospital before changing the name in 2018 as part of a strategic plan, Highpoint had 868 workers before the layoffs implemented this week. The medical staff has been about 170 in recent years, but Highpoint didn’t note whether doctors or nurses were affected…
