Researchers Listen to Rural Kentuckians – Then Score a Win for Heart Health

The University of Kentucky conducted a study in which Appalachian Kentucky participants took part in a self-care course and focused on reducing risk factors for heart disease, such as weight, cholesterol, or blood pressure. During the process, researchers learned from the residents and adapted their program to fit the cultural needs of the area.
