Cancer-related masculinity threat in young adults with testicular cancer: the moderating role of benefit finding.

CONCLUSIONS: For young adult men with testicular cancer, finding benefit appears to promote well-being in the face of masculine cancer threat. PMID: 31928079 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Conclusions: The study results emphasize the relevance of attachment orientation to caregiving relations in health-related contexts and call for awareness of the effect that level of depression combined with attachment orientation can have during hospitalization.Clinical implications: Assessing attachment orientation and depression in hospitalized elders might be useful for identifying older adults at risk for insufficient informal support during hospitalization. Conclusions: Docetaxel and epirubicin neoadjuvant chemotherapy showed a good response in locally advanced breast cancer. Pretreatment Ki-67 and change of Ki-67 may play a role as predictive factor for response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy. PMID: 32069523 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

In this study, we proposed a Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) model to predict synergistic drug combinations in particular cancer cell lines. Specifically, the GCN method used a convolutional neural network model to do heterogeneous graph embedding, and thus solved a link prediction task. The graph in this study was a multimodal graph, which was constructed by integrating the drug-drug combination, drug-protein interaction, and protein–protein interaction networks. We found that the GCN model was able to correctly predict cell line-specific synergistic drug combinations from a large heterogonous network. The ma...

Despite recent efforts to capture cancer cells' intercellular secretion heterogeneity using microfluidics, the challenges in operation of these systems as well as the complexity of designing a biosensing assay for long-term and real-time measurement of single cel...

Authors: Iwamoto M, Gotoda T, Noda Y, Esaki M, Moriyama M, Yoshida N, Takayama T, Kobayashi H, Masuda S Abstract As gastric neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) is a rapidly growing cancer, most cases are diagnosed at advanced stages. We herein report a 74-year-old woman with an early-stage gastric NEC whose history included endoscopic submucosal dissection treatment for three early-stage gastric cancer lesions five years prior to the current presentation. We also describe the changes observed over time. An endoscopic examination during follow-up revealed an NEC (measuring 6 mm) in the gastric vestibule, for which distal...

The apelin receptor, called angiotensin-like-receptor 1 (APJ), is also expressed in the brain, spleen, placenta, heart, liver, intestine, prostate, thymus, testis, ovary, lungs, kidneys, stomach, and adipose tissue. The apelin/APJ axis ...
