Comparison among four immobilization devices for whole breast irradiation with Helical Tomotherapy
Breast carcinoma is the most common malignancy in females. The estimated age-adjusted annual incidence of breast cancer in 40 European countries was 94.2 out of 100,000 in 2012 [1]. Adjuvant breast radiation therapy is a standard of care after both mastectomy and conservative breast surgery aiming to improve local control and survival [2,3]. The benefit of lymph node irradiation (mammary chain (MC), supra and infra clavicular nodes) in patients with axillary lymph nodes involvement or at high risk of relapse has been shown to improve survival in various clinical trials [4].
