Spin effects on the ponderomotive force of EM pulse in magnetized plasmas

Using this method, the spin perturbation and spin contribution to the ponderomotive force for EM wave propagating perpendicular as well as parallel to the external magnetic field are analyzed. In the case of the EM wave propagating parallel to the external magnetic field, our results are consistent with the results of Ref. [PRL 105, 105004(2010)]. In the case of the EM wave propagating perpendicular to the external magnetic field, results show that only Ez component of the EM field contributes to the spin ponderomotive force and Ey component has no influence on the spin ponderomotive force.
