Two projects receive NIH grant for breast cancer research

(University of California - Riverside) A research team led by biochemists at the University of California, Riverside, has received a four-year grant from the National Institutes of Health to study breast cancer and the racial disparities in the treatment of the disease. The nearly $1.24 million grant will support two projects: The first will investigate the biology of aggressive luminal B breast cancer; the second will focus on triple-negative breast cancer that is more prevalent in Latina/Hispanic and black women.
