Columbus jobs forecast predicts growth, but with region trailing U.S.

The robust growth of the Columbus region's economy since the Great Recession has slowed the past couple of years, and that trend is likely to continue in 2020, according to a new forecast. Local economist Bill LaFayette in his annual forecast predicts the region will add 11,100 jobs next year, for a growth rate of just 1.0%. That would be slower than last year's 1.5% growth, when the region added a net 13,100 jobs, and is lower than the predicted 1.2% growth for jobs overall across the United States.…
