Highly efficient Co-OMS-2 catalyst for the degradation of reactive blue 19 in aqueous solution

In this study, Co-doped manganese oxide octahedral molecular sieve (Co-OMS-2) has been successfully synthesized. The Co-OMS-2 catalyst shows high efficiency and excellent stability in activating peroxymonosulfate (PMS) to generate sulfate radicals for the degradation of Reactive Blue 19 in aqueous solution. The results illuminate the degradation efficiency has been enhanced by increasing catalyst dose and PMS concentration. Moreover, Co-OMS-2 has been successfully reused 5 times without significant decrease in the catalytic activity by the simple filtration.Graphical abstract
