KU Health announces new proton therapy center location
The University of Kansas Health System has settled on a site to house its new $39 million to $45 million proton therapy system and will begin construction in the next few weeks.
Proton therapy is a highly specialized form of radiation treatment that will be offered through The University of Kansas Cancer Center. It's an advanced form of precisely targeted radiation treatment using protons — rather than X-rays — to attack cancerous tumors.
