Federal data undercounts fatal overdose deaths caused by specific drugs

(University of South Florida (USF Innovation)) The number of drug overdose deaths is severely undercounted by the federal government. Over a 10-year period, one-in-three overdose deaths caused by opioids were not reported by the CDC.
