CONCLUSIONS: More neonatal surgeries (491 vs. 74 patients) were performed than those in the past (1984-1999). The surgical outcomes were much better than before. Our surgical outcomes revealed that the Republic of Korea has been transformed from a country receiving help to a country that helps other low socioeconomic status countries. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by a novel betacoronavirus severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), was first described in a cluster of patients presenting with pneumonia symptoms in Wuhan, China, in December of 2019. Over the past few months, COVID-19 has developed into a worldwide pandemic, with over 400,000 documented cases globally as of March 24, 2020. The SARS-CoV-2 virus is most likely of zoonotic origin, but has been shown to have effective human-to-human transmission.
Doctors in China have already warned that heart injuries appear common in COVID-19 patients, particularly those with existing heart disease or high blood pressure. A recent, smaller study found that 12% of hospitalized patients had the complication.

Conclusions: This survey highlights a critical gap in knowledge about cardiac monitoring and potentially life-saving opportunities for preventive cardiac medical management. Future studies focusing on timing and detection of RIHD may elucidate the utility of cardiac monitoring for TRT patients.
Abstract Ischemic heart disease is a predominant cause of death worldwide. The loss or death of cardiomyocytes due to restricted blood flow often results in a cardiac injury. These injured cardiomyocytes are replaced by myofibroblasts that preserve structural integrity. However, the depleted cardiomyocytes lead to cardiac dysfunction such as pathological cardiac dilation, reduced cardiac contraction and fibrosis. Repair and regeneration of myocardium are the best possible therapy for the end-stage heart failure patients because the current therapies that can help restore the lost cardiomyocytes are limited to hear...
Conclusions: We developed an individualized, outcome-optimized planning technique for HL. Some of the resulting plans were substantially different from clinical plans. The results varied depending on how risk models were defined or prioritized. PMID: 32216586 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
