27: Maternal inositol supplementation modulates placental metabolic programming in a pregnant murine model of metabolic syndrome
Metabolic syndrome (MS) and hypertension (HTN) in pregnancy impact offspring health in adult life. We showed that offspring born to MS dams have an altered metabolic phenotype that was improved by maternal inositol (INO) supplementation. Our objective was to test the hypothesis that the beneficial effect of INO is mediated through placental metabolic pathways in offspring born to a murine model of MS.
