Clinical Impact of Routine Cardiology Consultation Prior to Elective Carotid Endarterectomy in Neurologically Asymptomatic Patients.

CONCLUSION: Routine cardiology consultation before elective CEA in patients with asymptomatic carotid stenosis reduced peri-operative cardiac complications and long term fatal cardiovascular events.
