“Lumboperitoneal shunt as a resolution for idiopathic intracranial hypertension. What to expect while pregnant, a case report”
At our outpatient clinic a 34 year old primigravida attended at a gestational age of 196/7 weeks. Three years prior she developed idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH). Back then she presented with partial loss of vision and headache. A lumboperitoneal shunt was placed to relieve the symptoms, entering her thecal sac at spinal segment L3-L4. The peritoneal end is situated in the lower left side of her abdomen.
