Conclusion: Our study showed that achieving complete recanalization with a single thrombectomy pass using the Trevo device was highly beneficial. The most common clinical factors that are used to determine eligibility for endovascular therapy, such as NIHSS severity, location of occlusion or patient age were not predictive of the ability to achieve FPE.

The recent article from McCluskey et al “Radiological Eye Deviation as a Predictor of Large Vessel Occlusion in Acute Ischaemic Stroke” J of Stroke and Cerebrovasc Dis. 2019; 28:2318-23231 provides valuable information that may lead to early stroke intervention. They found that subjective visual detection of radiographic eye deviation on nonenhanced computed tomography (NECT) brain is strongly associated with large vessel occlusion (LVO). This compelling association may expedite patients for timely angiographic testing and endovascular therapy.

ConclusionsEnvironmental epidemiology has revealed that several organs and systems in the human body are targets of air pollutants. Current imaging methods that can assess the deleterious effects of pollutants includes a whole spectrum: radiography, US, CT and MRI. Future studies will help to reveal additional links among environmental disease networks.

A 41-year-old female with steroid-dependent rheumatoid arthritis and a recent (four months prior) cerebellar stroke presented with complaints of constant headache and right eye blindness of one day.  At the time of the cerebellar stroke, she had presented with persistent headaches, dizziness and gait instability. That workup, including hypercoagulability evaluation, was unremarkable apart from the radiographic abnormalities diagnosing her left medial cerebellar hemisphere infarct. She was disc harged with a plan for outpatient loop recorder placement and aspirin for secondary stroke prevention.

Background Recent studies of patients with intracerebral hemorrhage suggest an association between peripheral blood neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio and neurologic deterioration. We aimed to study the prognostic utility of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio in predicting inpatient mortality in aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage.
