Reproductive outcomes of infertile women undergoing "see and treat" office hysteroscopy: a retrospective observational study.

This study aimed to assess the feasibility and efficacy of office hysteroscopy to diagnose and treat the specific uterine pathologies frequently diagnosed and thought to be associated with female infertility.Material and methods: Using office hysteroscopy, we examined the uterine cavity in women with primary or secondary infertility and evaluated the reproductive outcomes of those affected by one or more pathologies, including cervico-isthmic adhesions, intrauterine polyps and intrauterine adhesions. Additional patient characteristics considered were age and parity, uterine pathology, pain during hysteroscopy, and outcomes including spontaneous pregnancies achieved and time between treatment and pregnancy. Results: Reproductive outcomes of 200 patients affected by one or more uterine pathologies were evaluated. Cervico-isthmic adhesions were the most frequent findings in older women, with nearly 80% of them achieving pregnancy sooner than the others in our study. Spontaneous pregnancy rates following office hysteroscopy were 76%, 53% and 22% in women with cervico-isthmic adhesions, polyps (

CONCLUSION: Data suggest different roles of opioidergic system and their antagonist in pain control and mood in PTSD. However, further investigations need to be done in order to reveal the role of endogenous opioidergic system and opioidergic antagonist system as a mediator in PTSD patients suffering from acute or chronic pain. CONCLUSIONS: MSG administered parenterally to the higher dose to adult rats affects the immunoreactivity of S100β protein in PAG. Phenotypic changes of the studied cells may indicate reactivity of glial cells and increased expression of the studied protein whereas a decrease in their number may result from the increased protein secretion into the extracellular space or cytotoxic death of glial cells. Conclusion: Early diagnosis and direct surgery for excision of hemangioblastoma is a good option during pregnancy while avoiding CSF diversion procedures. The symptomatic hemangioblastoma during pregnancy can be safely operated during early pregnancy. PMID: 32494398 [PubMed]

Authors: Karakoc G, Turgal M, Eroglu H, Cakir C, Yavuz A, Yucel A Abstract We aimed to assess whether the second-trimester maternal serum markers could be used for the prediction of labour induction success. This prospective study enrolled women planned labour induction at term. Women were assigned to one of two groups: vaginal prostaglandin or balloon dilatation. All patients were evaluated for Bishop score, maternal serum oestriol, human chorionic gonadotropin and progesterone at the time of second-aneuploidy screening. The total successful rate for induction of labour was 63.9% in both groups. Maternal serum oes...

In conclusion, Dexamethasone administration affected only the middle cerebral artery pulsatility index before 34 weeks of gestation.IMPACT STATEMENTWhat is already known on this subject? Preterm births account for 75% of neonatal morbidity and pulmonary dysfunction plays an important role on such morbidities. Also, neonates born after an elective CS have significantly higher rates of respiratory morbidity and neonatal intensive care unit admission. Corticosteroids are wildly used to improve neonatal outcome in women who have expected preterm labour and before an elective CS.What do the results of this study add? Dex...

The objective of the study was to evaluate uterine electrical activity (EA) with EMG methods in pregnant women with complete placenta previa with preterm caesarean section (CS). This prospective study included 78 patients with complete placenta previa who were recorded for uterine EA activity from 32 to 34 weeks of gestation. The clinical and the uterine EMG burst characteristics, that are responsible for contractions, were compared between a preterm CS group (case group, n = 33) and an elective control group (control group, n = 45). The uterine EA burst duration was longer in the case gr...

This study found no significative differences in blood stress response markers between the epidural analgesia group and the control group. Under this study circumstances we found out that epidural analgesia does not significantly influence the newborn's well-being during labour and delivery. What are the implications of these findings for clinical practice and/or further research? These findings must be confirmed by further studies to verify whether epidural analgesia is safe for the newborn's development. PMID: 32496840 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
