Risk Assessment, Genetic Counseling, and Genetic Testing for BRCA-related Cancer: US Preventive Services Task Force Recommendation Statement

For women in the United States, BRCA1/2 mutations occur in approximately 1 in 300 to 500 women. Risk of ovarian, fallopian, and peritoneal cancer is also increased to 39% in those with BRCA1 mutations and 10% to 17% for those with BRCA2 mutations.
