Lyme disease in the US is '10-times underreported'

The number of Lyme disease cases diagnosed in the US every year is around 300,000, according to new figures released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This number is about 10 times higher than the number officially reported. CDC officials presented their new preliminary estimates in Boston on Sunday at the 2013 International Conference on Lyme Borreliosis and Other Tick-Borne Diseases.
