Artefactually dampened flash stimulus visual evoked responses in a silicone oil–filled eye

Conclusion: Intraocular silicone oil could be responsible for this false delay in the latency and reduction in flash stimulus visual evoked response amplitudes. Assessment of flash stimulus visual evoked responses in the presence of silicone oil after vitreoretinal surgery may produce unreliable responses.
