Torsion of the testis with perineal ectopy

In this study, we present a rare case of testicular torsion with perineal ectopia in a boy of 18 months. To establish the anomaly, we used Doppler ultrasound and MRI. We performed inguinal exploration with subsequent detorsion testis and orchiopexy using the dartos pouch technique.

Objectives Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a very aggressive tumor with a very low 5-year survival rate of 8%. The aims of this study are to determine reference values and physiologic confounders in healthy pancreas and to assess the diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound time-harmonic elastography (THE) in the detection of PDAC. Materials and Methods From March 2017 through May 2019, a total of 54 study participants with healthy pancreas (n = 33, CTR) or PDAC (n = 21) were prospectively enrolled. Repeatability of THE was tested in a CTR subgroup (n = 5) undergoing repeat measurement on 4 different days. Interob...

Abstract Methods: Eighty-eight patients undergoing THA were randomized to receive 0.33% ropivacaine (Group QLB, n = 44) or saline (Group Con, n = 44) for QL3 block. Spinal anesthesia was then performed. Pain intensity was assessed using the visual analog scale (0: no pain to 10: worst possible pain). The primary outcome was pain scores recorded at rest at 3, 6, 12, 24, 36, and 48 h and on standing and walking at 24, 36, and 48 h postoperatively. Secondary outcomes were analgesic consumption, side effects, the 10-meter walking speed on day 6, and patient satisfaction after ...

We report a case of a 70-year-old Japanese man who presented with an incidentally discovered retroperitoneal mass without any evidence of excessive corticosteroid secretion. Laboratory and imaging studies, as well as transgastric endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration failed to establish a definitive diagnosis. Thus, the patient underwent surgical resection of the left-sided peritoneal tumor. Weiss score was positive in 6/9 points and the tumor met two major criteria of the Lin-Weiss-Bisceglia (LWB) system leading to a diagnosis of an oncocytic variant of ACC. Based on our findings in this patient, we conclude...

Authors: Teng L, Fu Z, Ma Q, Yao Y, Zhang B, Zhu K, Li P Abstract Background: Interactive echocardiography translation is an efficient educational function to master cardiac anatomy. It strengthens the student's understanding by pixel-level translation between echocardiography and theoretically sketch images. Previous research studies split it into two aspects of image segmentation and synthesis. This split makes it hard to achieve pixel-level corresponding translation. Besides, it is also challenging to leverage deep-learning-based methods in each phase where a handful of annotations are available. Methods: To...
