Prevalence of fungal infections and the oral health of hospitalized patients in a dermatology service

ConclusionsThis study demonstrated that the percentage of patients with dental/oral care needs in a hospital service is high and that the performance of dentist in the hospital environment is essential for the promotion, protection, and recovery of hospitalized patients’ health, reducing the risk of infection caused by opportunistic pathogens and improving the quality of life of these patients.
