Chronic graft-vs-host disease: a case report
This study presents a case report of a 42-year-old black woman who showed up in a clinic of pathology and stomatology because of oral manifestations of chronic graft-vs-host disease (cGVHD) after allogeneic bone marrow transplant. The disease manifestations showed as multiple white plaques and striations on the lips, labial mucosa, ventral surface of the tongue, oropharynx, palate, and buccal mucosa as well as areas of atrophic mucosa, burning mouth, and xerostomia. Based on the clinical findings and the patient's history, the diagnosis was cGVHD, and an incisional biopsy of the minor salivary glands of the inferior lip was performed to dismiss other pathologies.
