Etiology of iliocaval stent thrombosis

ConclusionsBased on our experience, in-stent restenosis followed by inflow lesions in the common femoral vein are the most common causes of stent thrombosis. These data suggest a need for future research to target these areas.

Regional anesthesia (RA)-induced vasodilation increases the proportion of patients with vein anatomy suitable for arteriovenous fistula (AVF) creation. The functional outcomes of AVFs created with veins initially small for size on preoperative duplex ultrasound mapping ( ≤2.4 mm) that are recruited under RA have not been clearly defined. We aimed to evaluate freedom from revision or thrombosis, time to first cannulation, and reintervention rates of AVFs created with veins recruited after induction of RA.

CONCLUSION Trainee anaesthesiologists can achieve higher success rates by using the Saline MDNTP-US technique instead of the MDNTP-US technique for radial artery catheterisation in neonates, taking less time with a lower incidence of complications. ConclusionsDVT was prevented with bemiparin, without significant bleeding increase nor adverse events; moreover, the cost of bemiparin is lower than enoxaparin. Bemiparin can be considered as alternative drug for DVT chemoprophylaxis in PRSx procedures.Level of Evidence IIIThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. CONCLUSION: Outflow reconstruction through the elbow bypass by cubital vein transposition is a valuable resource to rescue radiocephalic arteriovenous fistula complicated by outflow obstruction, avoiding the use of an interim central vein catheter. Endovascular treatment is vital to maintain functional patency in the mid- and long term. PMID: 31774035 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Authors: Plečko M, Bohaček I, Tripković B, Čimić M, Jelić M, Delimar D Abstract Anterior section of the hip joint capsule is innervated by femoral nerve and obturator nerve, and posterior section is innervated by the nerve to quadratus femoris muscle and occasionally by the superior gluteal (posterolateral region) and sciatic nerve (posterosuperior region). One of the regional anesthesia options for hip surgery is the fascia iliaca compartment block (FICB) that affects nerves important for hip innervation and sensory innervation of the thigh - femoral, obturator and lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. FICB can b...

Abstract OBJECTIVES: Surgical revascularisation to accomplish limb salvage remains preferable in some patients with chronic limb threatening ischaemia (CLTI). The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of ultrasound guided lower extremity nerve blockade (UGNB) in infragenicular bypass surgery (IGBS). METHODS: This was a single centre, retrospective clinical study. Fifty-nine patients with CLTI (67 limbs) who underwent IGBS under UGNB (femoral and sciatic nerve blockade) at Asahikawa Medical University between January 2012 and December 2017 were compared with patients with CLTI (137 lim...

Conclusion: Quadratus lumborum block and intrathecal morphine are effective analgesic regimens after cesarean section. However, quadratus lumborum block provides better long lasting analgesia together with reduction of total postoperative morphine consumption. PMID: 30852882 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
