Controversy on the correlation of red and processed meat consumption with colorectal cancer risk: an Asian perspective
In conclusion, our study provides evidence that BBR regulates fecal metabolites to ameliorate 5-Fu induced intestinal mucositis by modifying gut microbiota.Graphical abstract
ConclusionsCollectively, the current clinical data indicate pathological markers of miR-95, SGK1, Erk1 in human CRC cases, and further experimental findings reveal that anti-CRC pharmacological mechanism using genistein was implicated in suppression of cellular miR-95, SGK1, Erk1 expressions. Together, genistein may be a promising bioactive compound for treating CRC.
Conclusion: The result of the current study show that convallatoxin promotes apoptosis and inhibits proliferation and angiogenesis through crosstalk between JAK2/STAT3 (T705) and mTOR/STAT3 (S727) signaling pathways in colorectal cancer cells and indicate that convallatoxin could be a valuable candidate for the development of colorectal cancer therapeutic.Graphical abstract
Publication date: Available online 18 January 2020Source: Clinica Chimica ActaAuthor(s): Guodong Zhao, Yong Ma, Hui Li, Shiming Li, Yun Zhu, Xiaoyu Liu, Shangmin Xiong, Yi Liu, Jin Miao, Sujuan Fei, Minxue Zheng, Xiangwei ZhaoAbstractBackgroundMethylated SFRP2 was previously reported as a non-invasive biomarker for colorectal cancer (CRC) detection with a relatively low sensitivity for early stage CRC. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of a new plasma based CRC screening assay, SpecColon test, which tested methylated SFRP2 and SDC2 simultaneously in a single qPCR reaction, in detecting CRC and advan...
ConclusionsAvailable data do not support the hypothesis of an association of DPP4i treatment with malignancies, with a possible beneficial effect for colon-rectal cancer.
l A. El-Sayed New thienyl- or chlorophenyl-substituted thiazolopyrimidine derivatives and their derived sugar hydrazones incorporating acyclic d-galactosyl or d-xylosyl sugar moieties in addition to their per-O-acetylated derivatives were synthesized. Heterocyclization of the formed sugar hydrazones afforded the derived acyclic nucleoside analogues possessing the 1,3,4-oxadiazoline as modified nucleobase via acetylation followed by the cyclization process. The cytotoxic activity of the synthesized compounds was studied against human breast cancer MCF7 and MDA-MB-231 cell lines as well as human colorectal cancer HCT 116...
Conclusions PL-MLP treatment results in a substantial rate of disease stabilization in metastatic CRC, and prolonged survival in patients achieving stable disease. The correlation of neutrophil count and CEA level with pharmacokinetic parameters of MLP is an unexpected finding that needs further investigation. The association of long T ½ of MLP with stable disease and longer survival is consistent with an improved probability of disease control resulting from enhanced tumor localization of long-circulating liposomes and underscores the relevance of personalized pharmacokinetic evaluation in the use of nanomedicines.
Even after adjustment for tumor stage, patients with ulcerative colitis have higher risk for CRC mortality
CONCLUSION: The incidence of colorectal cancer has been increasing in Korea. Colonoscopy screening was a protective factor for colorectal cancer, and active use of colonoscopy may reduce incidence. Early diagnosis and care are important, particularly for the high-risk group. PMID: 31937075 [PubMed]
CONCLUSION: There is a difference in population sizes of immune cells in blood between patients with right-sided and leftsided colon cancers. The immune cell composition was determined to be distinct based on embryologic origin. PMID: 31937074 [PubMed]
