Severe myocarditis with slight lymphocytic infiltration after nivolumab treatment
Among the various reported adverse events associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), myocarditis is of particular concern in clinical practice as a relatively rare event but with an often fatal outcome [1]. However, the diagnosis of ICI-mediated myocarditis is challenging owing to its heterogeneous clinical presentation. Here, we report a case of histologically confirmed acute myocarditis showing only slight myocardial inflammation but severe left ventricular dysfunction after nivolumab treatment.
