EoE disease monitoring: Where we are and where we are going

Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), is an allergic disease of the esophagus that affects both children and adults and is defined by clinical, endoscopic, and histologic characteristics. Diagnostic criteria include eosinophilic infiltration of the esophagus with ≥ 15 eosinophils/high-powered field (eos/hpf), in the setting of esophageal dysfunction1.
