Intra Articular (IA) Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and Chondroitin Sulfate (CS): Pharmacokinetic (PK) investigation in rat osteoarthritic model

ConclusionDespite differences in their molecular size, HA and CS showed PK behavior similarly characterized by prolonged residence inside the joint and slow release in plasma, favoring long term beneficial effects.

Two different PRP formulations that buffy coat (Leukocyte rich PRP: LR-PRP) and plasma-based (Leukocyte poor PRP: LP-PRP) are obtained by different centrifugation methods. This prospective randomized trial was whether LP-PRP will be more effective combination for moderate go...

AbstractOsteoarthritis (OA) of the knee is closely associated with aging; however, little is known about the age-related degeneration in the mandibular condylar cartilage (MCC) of the TMJ. Our objective was to examine whether a correlation exists between aging and degeneration of the MCC of the TMJ. Thirty-two male C57BL/6J wild-type mice were aged to 2, 12, 18, and 25  months old. The mice were euthanized by CO2 inhalation and were dissected and examined by micro-CT and histology. Sagittal sections of the condyles were stained for tartrate-resistant alkaline phosphatase, alkaline phosphatase, safranin O, picrosirius ...

SummaryX ‑linked hypophosphatemic rickets (XLH, OMIM #307800) is a rare genetic metabolic disorder caused by dysregulation of fibroblast-like growth factor 23 (FGF23) leading to profound reduction in renal phosphate reabsorption. Impaired growth, severe rickets and complex skeletal deformities are direct consequences of hypophosphatemia representing major symptoms of XLH during childhood. In adults, secondary complications including early development of osteoarthritis substantially impair quality of life and cause significant clinical burden. With the global approval of the monoclonal FGF23 antibod y burosumab,...
