TRIC-A Channel Maintains Store Calcium Handling by Interacting with Type 2 Ryanodine Receptor in Cardiac Muscle.

Conclusions: In addition to the ion-conducting function, TRIC-A functions as an accessory protein of RyR2 to modulate SR Ca2+ handling in cardiac muscle. PMID: 31805819 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

An elderly woman with h/o stroke and aphasia seemed different to her daughter, and was pointing all over her body as if in pain. They called 911.She had a history of PCI to the circumflex and also of severe mitral regurgitation, status post bioprosthetic valve replacement.  Also a h/o LV aneurysm with thrombus, on anticoagulation, as well as a dual chamber pacemaker. On arrival, the BP was 60/30.Here is the initial ECG:There is atrial pacing and Right Bundle Branch Block (RBBB)There is STE in I and aVL, V5, V6, with reciprocal STD in II, III, aVFThere is appropriately discordant ST depression in V1-V3 (appropriate...

Recently, numerous appropriate strategies have been applied to base on solve these problem...

CONCLUSIONSThis study shows that non-invasive fECG is feasible throughout a broad range of gestational ages and allows detecting electrophysiological parameters of the fetal heart that may be used a surrogate of ANS maturity. Technological implementation of this system and its further exploitation may generate new tool to estimate fetal maturity.

Authors: Duan L, Mukherjee EM, Federman DG Abstract Background: Little is known about patient preference regarding the physical exam in non-urgent primary care settings. Objective: To determine the differences between a patient's expectations of the physical exam and the actual components of the physical examination performed during a non-urgent visit.Design: 452 surveys administered in the waiting room of a VA primary care clinic in West Haven, CT.Key Results: The response rate was 91.6% (n = 414). For 15 of 16 maneuvers on the survey, more respondents believed a reasonable provider should conduct it than received ...

Background: The diagnosis of covert atrial fibrillation (AF) remains a major challenge to guide secondary prevention of patients with embolic stroke of undetermined source (ESUS). Aims: We analyzed consecutive ESUS patients from 3 prospective stroke registries to assess whether the presence of supraventricular extrasystoles (SVE) on standard 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) is associated with the detection of AF (primary outcome), stroke recurrence and death (secondary outcomes) during follow-up.

ConclusionIn Holter ECG recordings of survivors of acute MI, signs suggestive of SDB were frequently present, but not associated with mortality. A flat nocturnal HR tachogram was a strong, independent predictor of 5-year all-cause mortality.

Conclusion Nonagenarians and centenarians in the Cilento region had a healthy metabolic profile and a low prevalence of clinical cardiovascular disease. Even among nonagenarians and centenarians with structural heart abnormalities, report of symptoms is low. Larger studies in the Cilento population may help elucidate the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular health in the oldest old.

Conclusion Current ECG criteria of LVH have low sensitivity despite an acceptable specificity. Among these, Cornell voltage and Cornell product criteria were equally found to have a more accurate diagnostic performance compared with other criteria. To overcome the intrinsic limitations of the current ECG LVH criteria, a new paradigm in the analysis of electrocardiographic data might be necessary.
