Mesocolic hernia after laparoscopic transverse colectomy: A case report
ConclusionWe believe that mesenteric defects should be closed after laparoscopic resection of the left side of transverse colon, regardless of their size.
ConclusionsOur study demonstrates the antitumor effect of IL-24 on endometrial cancer and shows that IL-24 may be a promising therapeutic gene for endometrial cancer gene therapy.Graphical abstract

We performed laparoscopic sigmoidectomy through 5 ports using needlescopic instruments. The resected specimen was extracted from the abdominal cavity transanally. After attaching an anvil to the sigmoidal stump, the rectal stump was reclosed using an endoscopic linear stapler, and then, colorectal anastomosis was conducted ...
CONCLUSIONS: This technique confers multiple advantages including improved visualization and dexterity within the pelvis and accurate wide margins at the pelvic floor. An incisionless robotic flap harvest with preservation of the anterior rectus sheath obviates the risk of ventral hernia while providing robust tissue closure of the radiated abdominoperineal excision wound. This technique may result in faster postoperative recovery, decreased morbidity, improved functional outcomes and cosmesis. Further studies are needed to prospectively analyze this approach (Supplemental Digital Content 1, video abstract, http://links.lww.com/DCR/A188 ).
This study reviewed retrospectively data of 35 patients with contaminated large ventral hernias who received repair using acellular dermal matrix combined with a component separation technique from 2009 to 2011. Twenty-one males and 14 females were identified with a mean age of 45.5 ± 12.5 years and a mean body mass index of 22.5 ± 5.8 kg/m(2). Simultaneously, nine patients underwent bowel fistula resection, 13 patients underwent ostomy takedown, five patients underwent recurrent colon cancer dissection, and eight patients underwent infectious permanent mesh removal and wound débridement. Mean defect s...
