ConclusionsDespite the inherent bias of a retrospective analysis, our long-term results showed a low toxicity profile with a relatively low rate of biochemical control for HT re-treatment in patients affected by local radiorecurrent prostate cancer. Prospective trials are needed to investigate the role of EBRT in this setting.

We systematically reviewed existing meta-analyses of observational studies and evaluated the level of evidence for their putative effects based on pre-selected criteria. Of the 23 included studies, we found convincing evidence of an inverse association between whole grain consumption and risk of type-2 diabetes and colorectal cancer; possible evid...

ConclusionsWhile accounting for known risk factors for PrCA, including age, race, and marital status, we found geographic areas in SC characterized by higher than average social vulnerability with higher rates of incident PrCA among veterans. Outreach for screening, education, and care coordination may be needed for veterans in these areas.

AbstractPurpose of ReviewThis review summarizes recent advances in prostate cancer (PCa) genetics.Recent FindingsUpwards of 20% of metastatic castration-resistant prostate tumors (mCRPC) carry homologous recombination (HR) repair gene mutations, of which ~  10% are germline (inherited). Another ~ 5% exhibit microsatellite instability (MSI-H) and/or mismatch repair deficiency (MMRd). Pembrolizumab is approved for tumors with MMRd, thus patients with mCRPC and MMRd are candidates for pembrolizumab. Emerging data indicate that platinum chemotherapy a nd poly ADP-ribose polymerase inhibitors (PARPi) are effective...

We report one case, in which the patient presented to the emergency department with lower urinary tract symptoms, fever and consumptive syndrome. Acute prostatitis was initially suspected, but subsequently prostate adenocarcinoma was diagnosed. This case enables us to consider the possibility of prostate adenocarcinoma as the diagnose in patients with fever of unknown origin, and the role of procalcitonin to rule out the presence of infection.
