FDC formulations have unique advantages such as complementary mechanism of action, synergistic effects, better tolerability, elongated product life-cycle management, and cost savings. Polypharmacy is a frequent problem in T2DM patients having hypertension, dyslipidemia, and other comorbidities. Use of FDCs is a rational approach for achieving optimal therapeutic benefits while minimizing pill-burden. Greater convenience with decreased pill-burden leads to improved adherence, resulting in superior clinical outcomes and greater cost-effectiveness. However, the general guidance for the clinical development and approval of FDC drugs in India is not much standardized. Conclusion: People with T2DM presenting at eye clinics in India have high rates of diabetic retinopathy and vision loss. Cataract is a very common occurrence. Advocacy, infrastructure strengthening, and human resource development are the key to address the growing threats of T2DM and eye care in India.

Conclusion: Diabetic retinopathy was prevalent in 1/3rd and sight-threatening DR in 1/5th of people with T2DM presenting at eye-care facilities in this pan-India facility-based study. The duration of diabetes was the strongest predictor for retinopathy.

Conclusion: RVO is a frequent finding in people with T2DM. History of stroke carries the highest risk followed by HTN. The management of people with T2DM and RVO must also include comanagement of all associated systemic conditions.
