In conclusion, both cases—those suffering from depression and those having suffered from it before—experience cognitive impairment. The degree of cognitive function being impaired is greater in the case of depression-onset than that of depression-remission. Age, stimulating activities, and chronic conditions are also strongly relevant to cognitive decline accompanied by changes in depressive state.
