However, the role of α5‑nAChR in prostate cancer cell growth and metastasis is unclear. In the present study, the role of α5‑nAChR in cell proliferation, migration, invasion and apoptosis was investigated by silencing the expression levels of α5‑nAChR in the prostate cancer cell lines DU145 and PC3. A siRNA oligonucleotide targeting α5‑nAChR was designed. The cell proliferation of DU145 and PC3 cell lines was analyzed by the Cell Counting Kit‑8 (CCK‑8) assay. Cell migratory and invasive activities were determined using wound healing and Transwell assays, respectively. Western blot analysis was used to quantify α5‑nAChR, p‑AKT and p‑ERK1/2 levels in DU145 and PC3 cells. Noorbakhsh-Sabet et al.1 published an excellent review in The American Journal of Medicine summarizing the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine. They describe wide utility (e.g. in dermatology and stroke), but do not consider surgery and urology, which embrace cutting-edge technology, including fusion-biopsy and robotics,2 and will be early AI adopters. Indeed, prostate cancer creates a huge health care burden, thus being ideal for AI transformation.

Conclusions This case study demonstrates that an aerobically trained prostate cancer patient can return to high-level aerobic training in as little as 7 wk post-RP, and even exceed presurgery fitness. This finding has implications for prognosis given the beneficial effect of vigorous-intensity exercise on prostate cancer progression.
