This study illuminates how 25 in-patients who were treated for anorexia nervosa in a highly specialized clinic for eating disturbances in Sweden experienced the treatment program. The program included structured eating, medication, restrictions in physical activity and supportive dialogues. Patients were also offered semi-standardized NADA ear acupuncture as a complement to relieve stress, anxiety and tension. In total, 46 interviews were analysed qualitatively using latent content analysis. The results showed how participants strived with their slow transition towards recovery. CONCLUSION: Our data suggest that EA can reverse the central sensitisation of the TRPV1-ERK signalling pathway in the mouse brain. Abstract OBJECTIVES: To determine how muscle spindles are involved in the pathophysiology of chronic myofascial trigger spots (MTrSs, similar to myofascial trigger points) in a rat injury model according to the characteristics of the Hoffmann reflex (H-reflex) and the anatomical relationship between muscle spindles and MTrSs. A blunt strike injury and eccentric exercise were applied to the gastrocnemius muscle of rats in the experimental group once a week for 8 weeks as a MTrS modelling interv...

We present a case series of intraoperative multipoint acupuncture treatments for high-risk pediatric patients. Fourteen patients were included, and 19 treatments were provided. Twelve patients (85.7%) had previous PONV. Patients who received intraoperative acupunctur e reported no early phase PONV, and 3 patients (15.8%) reported late-phase PONV. One patient required postoperative antiemetics. Intraoperative multipoint acupuncture may be a safe and efficacious adjunct for PONV in high-risk pediatric patients.

This study aimed to provide clarity about the impact of AA on weight loss via a randomized controlled trial. Data were collected from patients to identify measurable girth reduction, weight loss, dietary choices, and mood changes over seven weekly sessions of AA (n = 30) versus sham needle as control (n = 28). Results demonstrated a large and highly significant AA treatment effect for reduced waist circumference over the course of the seven-week intervention. While the treatment effect for weight loss and BMI was not significant, this negative result may have been mediated by the relatively shor...
