CONCLUSIONS: Powerlifters with and without LBP show similar functional impairments and patho-anatomical findings. However, powerlifters' LBP seems associated with pain during movement and loading of the lumbar spine. The association and causation between specific functional impairments, patho-anatomical findings and LBP in powerlifters has to be further investigated in studies including more participants. Conclusion: We report the first case of robot-assisted direct intralaminar screw fixation for spondylolysis using the TiRobot system. Robotic guidance for direct repair of spondylolysis could be feasible.

Conclusions: The sports with the greatest risk of spondylolysis in adolescent athletes in this study were not consistent with published literature. Clinicians should be cautious generalizing high-risk sports to their practice, as geographic region and level of the athlete may significantly influence the incidence of spondylolysis in the population they are treating.

Discussion: An abnormal neurological examination was found as a strong predictor for an underlying pathologic condition. Further imaging of a pediatric patient with back pain without clear explanation for their symptoms on plain radiographs should not be limited to constant pain, or night pain because clinicians could be missing important diagnosis. We present a new percutaneous bone grafting technique for young elite athletes with acute spondylolysis. Osseous healing was achieved and the patient was able to resume competitive sport activities within 6 months after surgery.
