ChungAbstractObjective: The purpose of the study is to investigate the risk of preventable hospitalization among patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Methods: We identified 11,852 incident RA patients and 59,260 age-, sex-, and index year-matched controls from the Taiwan National Health Insurance Database. Index date was the RA diagnosis date for cases, which was assigned to their matched controls. The odds ratios (OR) of preventable hospitalizations between RA patients...

Authors: Saenza De San Pedro A, Lopes MP, Sokolova A, Abreu C, Lopes C Abstract Summary: Atopic Dermatitis (AD) affects both children and adults and is a serious health concern in many countries. AD is a complex disease with host and environmental factors underlying its pathology. Its treatment is multidimensional reflecting the diverse nature of its triggers and includes emollients, topical steroids and calcineurin inhibitors among others. Immunological dysfunction can be addressed broadly with systemic immunosupressors and specifically with monoclonal antibodies. Dupilumab, which targets IL-4 and IL-13 was grante...

Authors: Magrone T, Magrone M, Jirillo E Abstract BACKGROUNDS: Mast cells (MCs) bear many receptors which allow them to respond to a variety of exogenous and endogenous stimuli. However, MC function is dual since they can initiate pathological events or protect the host against infectious challenges. Involvement of mast cells in various disease: The role of MCs in disease will be analyzed in a broad sense, describing cellular and molecular mechanisms related to their involvement in auto-inflammatory diseases, asthma, autoimmune diseases and cancer. On the other hand, their protective role in the course of bacterial...
