Herein, we demonstrated the synthesis of porous gadolinium oxide nanosheets (Gd2O3 NSs) with a colloidal synthesis method. The porous Gd2O3 NSs exhibited a promising pH-responsive drug release behavior for cancer chemotherapy and can be used as an efficient contrast agent for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging.

Moreover, a higher order's degree in the arrangement of the filler's platelets, e.g. aligned parallel to the membrane s...

Conclusion: Here, we found fatty infiltration present in most Chinese DM1 patients with a selective involvement pattern. There is a correlation between the total mean score of fatty infiltration and MIRS grading, age and disease duration. PMID: 31951783 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

CorreiaAbstractUltra-high field functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has allowed us to acquire images with submillimetre voxels. However, in order to interpret the data clearly, we need to accurately correct head motion and the resultant distortions. Here, we present a novel application of Boundary Based Registration (BBR) to realign functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) data and evaluate its effectiveness on a set of 7T submillimetre data, as well as millimetre 3T data for c...

Publication date: May 2020Source: Journal of Neurolinguistics, Volume 54Author(s): Mo Chen, Fengyang Ma, Junjie Wu, Shuhua Li, Zhaoqi Zhang, Yongben Fu, Chunming Lu, Taomei GuoAbstractThe present study investigated the effect of language-switching training on the neural correlates of both reactive and proactive control in bilingual language production, as well as the modulating role of the proficiency level of the second language (L2). During the pre-test, Chinese-English bilinguals performed a picture-naming task while being scanned with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). Participants then took part in an 8-day...

CONCLUSION: Fungus ball can be suggested by the presence of the hyper-signal intensity portions in the fungal mass on T1WI in conjunction with dark-signal lesions surrounded by high-signal, hypertrophic mucosal walls in paranasal sinuses on T2WI. PMID: 31950777 [PubMed - in process]

Publication date: Available online 17 January 2020Source: NeuroImage: ClinicalAuthor(s): Mladen Rakić, Mariano Cabezas, Kaisar Kushibar, Arnau Oliver, Xavier LladóAbstractAutism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a brain disorder that is typically characterized by deficits in social communication and interaction, as well as restrictive and repetitive behaviors and interests. During the last years, there has been an increase in the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to help in the detection of common patterns in autism subjects versus typical controls for classification purposes. In this work, we propose a method for t...

ConclusionsNon-dominant, ulnar-sided, wrist pain in a subgroup of elite tennis players using a double-handed backhand technique is not associated with a statistically significant increased prevalence of MRI abnormalities when compared with asymptomatic tennis players, other than some evidence of statistical association with ECU tendon abnormalities. Therefore, significance of MRI abnormalities should be interpreted in the context of clinical findings.

ConclusionsTransarticular SIJ biopsies are obtainable and can be directed towards areas with MRI abnormalities. They can be used to confirm inflammatory changes histologically. With the biopsy needles used, severe bone marrow sclerosis may hinder penetration to the cartilage, but bone marrow specimens can be obtained.
