Comment on: Comparative analysis of the single-anastomosis duodenal-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy (SADI-S) to established bariatric procedures: an assessment of 2-year postoperative data illustrating weight loss, type 2 diabetes, and nutritional status in a single U.S. center

Single-anastomosis duodenal-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy (SADI-S) was introduced in 2007 by S ánchez-Pernaute and is accepted as a modification of the widely accepted biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch. This paper from Enochs et al. [1] represents an important addition to the body of growing literature regarding SADI-S and clinical outcomes. The comparison between SADI-S and es tablished bariatric procedures is still limited and no papers, either prospective or retrospective, have examined weight loss, type 2 diabetes, and nutritional status outcomes between SADI-S, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB), and sleeve gastrectomy.
