CONCLUSIONS: The results indicate climate zone to be an important determinant of the basic reproduction number, R0, for dengue, Zika virus, and chikungunya. The role of other factors as determinants of R0, such as methods, environmental and social conditions, and disease control, should be further investigated. The results suggest that R0 may increase in temperate regions in response to global warming, and highlight the increasing need for strengthening preparedness and control activities. CONCLUSION: The last past arboviruses outbreaks did not have a significant impact on blood supply in FP. The measures introduced to prevent arbovirus transmission by transfusion were able to maintain infectious safety for all blood products without impairing self-sufficiency. Chikungunya (CHIK) fever is a tropical arbovirosis characterized by sudden fever, headache, rash, and severe arthralgia. The disease has been suggested to act as a trigger for several autoimmune disorders, especially rheumatoid arthritis. This abstract reports 2 cases of Sj ögren syndrome (SS) following CHIK infection. Both patients were female and presented with fever, arthralgia, rash, and arthritis during CHIK outbreak in Recife, Brazil. After several months, they developed severe sicca symptoms and 1 of them presented with parotid enlargement.
