AbstractBreast cancer is the leading killer of Chinese women. Immunohistochemistry index has great significance in the treatment strategy selection and prognosis analysis for breast cancer patients. Currently, histopathological examination of the tumor tissue through surgical biopsy is the gold standard to determine immunohistochemistry index. However, this examination is invasive and commonly causes discomfort in patients. There has been a lack of noninvasive method capable of predicting immunohistochemistry index for breast cancer patients. This paper proposes a machine learning method to predict the immunohistochemical ...

CONCLUSION: CEUS demonstrated good sensitivity in detecting breast cancer, and the combined use with MRI can optimize the diagnostic specificity and accuracy in breast cancer prediction. ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE: Few studies have compared the diagnostic efficacy of CEUS and MRI, and this study is the first attempt to seek out the diagnostic values for breast lesions of variable sizes (lesions with ≤20 mm and>20 mm). Invasiveness research is an essential step in breast cancer metastasis. The application of high-frequency ultrasound microbeam stimulation (HFUMS) offers a manner of determining the invasion potential of human breast cancer cells by eliciting the elevation of transient cytoplasmic calcium ions (Ca2+). The fluorescent index (FI), which is a composite parameter reflecting calcium elevations elicited by HFUMS, was shown to be higher in invasive breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231) compared to weakly invasive breast cancer cells (MCF-7) using the low-intensity 50-MHz HFUMS. This novel finding shows significant difference from the ...

Boguševičius A Abstract Background and objectives: With improved diagnostic means of early breast cancer, the percentage of cases with metastasis in axillary lymph nodes has decreased from 50%-75% to 15%-30%. Lymphadenectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy are not treatment procedures, as they aim at axillary nodal staging in breast cancer. Being surgical interventions, they can lead to various complications. Therefore, recently much attention has been paid to the identification of non-invasive methods for axillary nodal staging. In many countries, ultrasound is a first-line method to evaluate axillary lym...
