Proton Pump Inhibitors and Kidney Function Decline in Community-Dwelling Older Adults
We thank Drs Soysal and colleagues for their important comment that proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), often given in combination with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), may have added to the decrease in kidney function observed with NSAID use. We therefore performed additional analyses in our data set to explore this important concern.
