In this study, we aimed to investigate the potential mechanism of PRSS3 dysregulation in PC. In this research, low miR-217 and high circ-ADAM9 expression were found in PC tissues and cell lines, which was closely associated with advanced clinical stage and lymph node metastasis. Patients with low miR-217 or high circ-ADAM9 expression had shorter survival time than those with high miR-217 or low circ-ADAM9 expression. Functionally, manipulation of miR-217 and circ-ADAM9 expression showed opposite effects on cell proliferation, migration and invasion. Stepwise mechanism studies indicated that circ-ADAM9 alleviated the inhibi...

Cancer immunology drugs, which harness the body ’s immune system to better attack cancer cells, have significantly changed the face of cancer treatment. People with aggressive cancers are now living longer, healthier lives. Unfortunately, cancer immunology therapy only works in a subset of patients. Now, a new study from scientists at the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center helps explain why some people with advanced cancer may not respond to one of the leading immunotherapies, PD-1 blockade, and how a new combination approach may help overcome resistance to the immunotherapy drug.TheUCLA study, published today i...

ConclusionThe utilization of robotic-assisted resections of GI cancers is rapidly increasing with more frequent use in younger and healthier patients. This study demonstrates that with the rising utilization of robotic-assisted resections, perioperative outcomes and oncologic safety have not been compromised.

ConclusionsDuring our 15  years of experience, we have successfully performed 1483 cases of AGC with laparoscopy. Our results showed short-term and long-term oncologic outcomes that were comparable with other studies. LG is safe and feasible in general practice for advanced gastric cancer when performed by experienced surg eons.

zilas Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is an aggressive malignancy. Most of the patients of PDAC present at later stages of disease and have a five-year survival rate of less than 10%. About 5–10% PDAC cases are hereditary in nature and have DNA damage repair (DDR) mutations such as BRCA 1 and 2. Besides having implications on screening and prevention strategies, these mutations can confer sensitivity to platinum-based therapies and determine eligibility for poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors (PARPi). In the presence of DDR mutations and PARPi, the cells are unable to utilize the error-free process...
