Four groups of 15 animals each were used for the study, one group was immunized with the recombinant F. hepatica MRLC in Adjuplex&re...

In this study, we generated two recombinant RABVs, rERAG333E/NiVG and rERAG333E/NiVF, expressing the NiV Malaysian strain attachment glycoprotein (NiV-G) or fusion glycoprotein (NiV-F) gene based on the rERAG333E vector platform. Both rERAG333E/NiVG and rERAG333E/NiVF displayed growth properties similar to those of rERAG333E and caused marked syncytia formation after co-infection in BSR cell culture. Adult and suckling mice intracerebrally inoculated with the recombinant RABVs showed NiV-G and NiV-F expression did not increase the virulence of rERAG333E. Oral vaccination with rERAG333E/NiVG either singularly or combined wi...

The A. hydrophila JUNAH strain was inactivated with formalin and used as a vaccine antigen. It was mixed with dissolvable carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) as the matrix material to produce the MNs pat...

We reported higher values of hematocrit, hemoglobin, Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin (MCH), Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV), White Blood Cell (WBC), Red Blood Cell (RBC) and lymphocytes for treated groups. Innate immune responses (Alternative complement activity (ACH50) in M2 and M3 group, total Immunoglobulin (Ig) and lysozyme in M3), mucosal immune parameters (ACH50, total Ig for M2 and M3 group and lysozyme in all treated groups) were enhanced. Activities of digestive enzymes (protease in all treated groups, amylase for 3 and 5%, while lipase only for 5%) and lower activity of liver ALT enzyme in individuals treated with high...

Kerr, Richard Saffery, Markus Juonala, Tim Olds, Terry Dwyer, David P. Burgner, Tien Yin WongAbstractTraditional retinal microvascular parameters (smaller arteriolar and greater venular caliber) are associated with cardiovascular risk factors, pre-clinical vascular phenotypes and clinical cardiovascular events in adults. Although novel retinal microvascular geometric parameters showed analogous associations in adults, less is known whether these parameters are associa...

In this study, we develop a composite hydrogel drug delivery system that is capable of both mechanically-sensitive drug release and of targeting inflammatory macrophages at the thrombus. The hydrogel is a high molecular weight hyaluronic acid (HA) modified with glycidyl methacrylate as a hydrogel precursor; a cross-linkable block copolymer (CBC) is used as the drug coating material and a microscopic cross-linking agent. The difference in drug release rate of the composite hydrogel (HACBC) in simulated blood vessels with 0% and 75% occlusion was as high as 49.3%. Under long-term cycling conditions in stenotic vessels, dynam...

In conclusion, positive statistical association between serum cholesterol (total cholesterol, LDL-c and HDL-c) and chloride levels may suggest their similar modulation by AHF pathophysiology. Serum levels of total cholesterol, LDL-c and chloride contribute to patient survival. PMID: 31819314 [PubMed - in process]

Did you know that your health insurance covers a variety of screenings, counseling services and immunizations at NO cost to you? Zero, zip, zilch out of your pocket. That's right, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires that all health plans cover recommended preventive services at no cost to the individual. These recommended services -- things like cholesterol testing, colonoscopies and screenings for a healthy pregnancy and baby -- can keep you healthy and detect any issues before they become major health (and financial) concerns. Here's everything you need to know about free preventive care through your health plan: W...
