Coexistence of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) with depressive symptoms in patients suffering from depressive disorders.

CONCLUSIONS: LUTS are common among patients with depression. There is a correlation between severity of depressive symptoms and LUTS. LUTS affect quality of life and well-being as well as cause marked distress in depressed patients. Comorbidity of LUTS and depression should draw attention of both psychiatrists and urologists and enhance interdisciplinary treatment approach. Further prospective and cohort studies are essential to reveal more details of the correlation between LUTS and depression. PMID: 31760418 [PubMed - in process]
